Opening of the branch of the International Fund for Cooperation and Partnership of the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea in Africa
On October 4, 2016, in Johannesburg city of the Republic of South Africa there was held opening ceremony of the branch of the International Fund for Cooperation and Partnership of the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea (International Foundation) in Africa.
The event was attended by prominent public figures of the South Africa, members of the Board of Directors, the Secretary General and the staff of the Central Office of the International Fund.
The head of the branch of the International Fund in Johannesburg, Mr. Zolani Mkiva, spoke at the event and thanked all members of the Board of Directors for their support to his initiative on opening of the branch for the African region. He expressed confidence that activities of the branch would contribute to implementation of the goals of International Fund in Africa, i.e. strengthening of dialogue, promotion of mutual understanding, cooperation among peoples, peace, security, sustainable development and stability.
The 15th Board of Directors and General Assembly Meeting of the International Fund for Cooperation and Partnership of the Black Sea and Caspian Sea
On June 17, 2016 in Bucharest, Romania was held the 15th meeting of the Board of Directors and General Assembly of the International Foundation for Cooperation and Partnership of the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea (International Fund). Romania, representatives of which are among the founders of the International Fund and in the capital of which the organization was established seven years ago, extended its hospitality for members and guests of the organization.
The 15th meeting of the Board of Directors and General Assembly of the International Fund for the cooperation and partnership of the Black sea and Caspian sea is scheduled to take place in Bucharest, the headquarters of the BSCSIF, on June 16-18, 2016 where (June 16- arrival, June 17- meeting, June 18-departure of participants).
At the meeting, in a traditionally friendly atmosphere characteristic to our organization, current and strategic objectives related to the development of BSCSIF will be discussed.
In the period June 28 – July 1, 2015, the Chief Coordinator of the central office of BSCSIF, Juia Akhunova participated in the annual 14th International Summer School in Sipan, Croatia, organized by the Atlantic Council of Croatia in cooperation with NATO PDD and International Institute for Peace (Vienna), represented by Mr. Peter Stania, member of the Board of Directors of BSCSIF.
The School was divided into two blocks: Mediterranean between Europe and Middle East: Challenges and Perspectives, organized with the support of NATO Public Diplomacy Division; and another one – Western Balkans between Integration and Isolation, co-organized with the International Institute for Peace, Vienna.
The School gathered speakers and participants from 15 different countries, the USA, Russia, Ukraine, Italy, Canada, Austria, Hungary, Greece and all Western Balkan countries. The organizers invited as speakers many professors, experts and people from politics who transferred their knowledge to 40 participants, young leaders in public diplomacy, PhD and master’s candidates from many countries, giving them different perspectives of the current situation of international security and stability. Participants were mostly interested in Macedonian crisis, current Greek crisis, Kosovo status and current Ukrainian crisis.
Consulate of Lithuania in Istanbul and DEİK (Foreign Economic Relations Board) hosted and organized Turkey-Lithuania Business Forum, in İstanbul Turkey on 9th of December. The Secretary General of International Center for Support and Coordination for Economic Cooperation Mr. Murat Teber and the board member Mrs. Elif Cagla Isik have attended the Business Forum on behalf of International Fund for Cooperation and Partnership of the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea.
Business Forum has started with the speeches of President of Lithuania Ms. Dalia Grybauskaite and Mr. Nail Olpak the Vice President of DEİK, Turkey. The main subject of the Business Forum was trade relations and new opportunities between Turkey and Lithuania. Presentations regarding, doing business in Lithuania, laser industry in Lithuania, alternate transportation opportunities in Lithuania were presented.
After the presentations, bilateral meetings were held. Mr. Murat Teber and Mrs. Elif Çağla Işık had some contacts with representatives of Lithuanian companies related to the current and possible future projects of the Economic Center.
